I’m Lorna, a freelance journalist, editor and writer with more than decade of experience working in the world of writing. Most of my work has been within the photography and lifestyle fields, having been a staff and freelance features writer for titles such as Professional Photographer, Photography Monthly, Canon Europe, Live Science, Scuba Diver and Bride magazine. During my editorship of online title Wild Planet Photo Magazine, I developed a deep interest in conservation and now work with leading lights in the realms of wildlife photography and conservation to bring nature stories to life. In 2019, I began work as book editor on the crowdfunded non-profit photography book Remembering Lions – a title which raised more than £150,000 to help protect lions in Africa. I subsequently worked with the team on the next fundraising books in the series, Remembering Cheetahs, Remembering African Wild Dogs, Remembering Bears and in 2023, Remembering Leopards. The series has now sold more than 35,000 books and distributed more than £1 million.

Aside from journalism, I’ve been involved in multiple facets of the content industry – from publications and broadcast outlets to agencies, copywriting and content marketing. I work with brands to help share their stories and have written for travel and tech companies such as Silversea and Facebook IQ.

When it comes to passions, I’m obsessed with pictures, the environment, yoga, the science of sound and all things by the sea. I have a taste for adventure, whether that’s climbing UK peaks or diving with sharks, I’ll do all sorts of things in the name of journalism. I’m happiest when writing about great minds and inspirational projects (preferably with a large cup of tea in hand).
